Peter Taylor

Peter Taylor

Peter Taylor’s career trajectory has taken a similar path to that of many accomplished landscape artists throughout Canadian history including Tom Thomson and some of the Group of Seven painters. After completing his Sheridan College (Oakville) studies, Taylor benefitted from several years of intense commercial graphic design and illustration experience. He gained an abiding appreciation for the visual art fundamentals – form, perspective, light, and composition. For Taylor, his creative passions are stoked by a simple, evocative mantra - “It's all about being outside”. Paddling, running, outdoor exploring across Ontario – each experience has given Taylor fresh opportunities to reaffirm how deep, personal attachments to Nature remain his creative wellspring. Since the late 1990s, his paintings have achieved wide acclaim in numerous Canadian landscape exhibitions. Taylor makes his home in Dunedin near Creemore, Ontario.
