Paul Nabuurs

A Nabuurs landscapes is filled with bold, bright colours that arrest the eye and highlight the nuances of nature. He seeks to explore the everchanging quality of a rural Canadian scene by capturing and composing a moment in time. Nabuurs then weaves layers of light, colour, and lines, seeking a perfect balance between vibrating energy and warm nostalgia. Nabuurs grew up in Newmarket before attending the Ontario College of Art and Design, where he perfected his watercolour technique. His early environmental science career provided the commencement point for his eventual technique transition into acrylic landscapes. His work has been featured in dozens of solo presentations, group exhibitions and art festivals. Nabuurs is an Untamed Things painting collective member, a group that maintains an ongoing exhibition schedule. Paul lives with his family in Peterborough County where he owns the Above the Waters Studio and Gallery.
